How it works

  1. Paste your lyrics

Use [Verse] and [Chorus] on their own lines to shape the song.

  2. Describe the sound

Genre, mood, tempo and the kind of voice you want.

  3. Listen and go on

Download the MP3 or make a video with your lyrics as captions.

Who it is for

  • Songwriters

Hear how a verse sits before booking a session.

  • Poems and messages

Turn a poem or a personal message into a song.

  • Language learning

Set vocabulary to a melody you will remember.

How to write lyrics that sing well

Keep lines about the same length within a section, because the singer fits each line to the same phrase. Short lines of six to ten words give the clearest vocals.

Put [Verse], [Chorus] and [Bridge] on their own lines. Repeat the chorus in full each time you want it sung; do not write "chorus x2". Numbers and abbreviations read better spelled out.

What it does not do well

  • You cannot pick an exact length. The song ends when the lyrics end, so more lyrics make a longer song.
  • Vocals can slur words, especially fast passages or unusual names. Spell tricky words the way they sound.
  • Imitating a named artist or an existing song is not allowed. Describe the sound instead: genre, mood, tempo and instruments.
  • Lyrics can be up to 3,000 characters. Long verses without structure tags often rush.

Questions

Will it sing my exact words?

It sings what you paste, though a word can occasionally be slurred or changed in delivery. If a word matters, spell it the way it sounds.

What languages work?

Many languages work, including English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. English gets the most consistent vocals.

Do I keep rights to my lyrics?

Yes. Your lyrics stay yours. We do not use them for anything except making your song.

Can I get a video with my lyrics on it?

Yes. After the song is made, create a storyboard with captions on, or use the lyric video maker for a graphic-only version.
